Introduction

Hi parents and students! My name is Daina Hotard. I am a gifted and talented teacher at Belle Chasse High. I have been teaching for 17 years. I have a bachelors degree in education, a masters degree in studio art, and additional graduate coursework in academically gifted education and school librarian. I currently teach Talented Art, Duel Enrollment drawing, and AP studio art. I am also Belle Chasse High School's librarian. 

 

As both an educator and an artist, I believe that everyone can learn to create art and be creative, even those who "can't draw a stick figure!" Art in many ways is a state of mind and a way of looking at the world around you. I love showing students new techniques, discussing creative thinking, and showing them ways to improve their works. While many of my students tend to be experienced artists, they can still learn and grow in their chosen media and style.
