My Story
For over a decade I helped visitors and locals alike to view New Orleans' history through a new lens and to appreciate the depth, diversity, and myriad of cultural influences that inexorably led to the present day city of New Orleans. As a tour guide and business owner my focus was on our shared history and ways we could portray it to the world in as sustainable a way possible.
Over time I realized that what I loved most about my work was the opportunity to educate and learn from the people I interacted with and when I had the opportunity to attend Tulane University I took it. I embarked upon a new career path that would foster what I loved about my previous work and continued to keep me engaged in community: a public school teacher of social studies.
I am dedicated to multicultural and student-focused education. A multigenerational New Orleanian, I believe our region is truly unique and that education is integral to the task of shaping our region’s future generations in a way that will improve our social and civic community. I feel like I have found my community teaching here at Belle Chasse High School. Currently I teach Psychology, Sociology, and Law Studies. I am also the Teacher Advisor/Sponsor (with Mrs. Isabel Gonzalez) for the Student Council.
