Our Vision

Belle Chasse High School will provide a rigorous education to all students to ensure they are college and career ready.

Welcome to our website!  Belle Chasse High School is an amazing school with the very best students and staff!  Our small-town, family-like school community truly makes this one of the best and highest performing public high schools in the state of Louisiana.

We are very proud to be an “A” school once again!  Our students excel in their performance on LEAP, ACT, Advanced Placement exams, and CLEP exams.  There are many dual enrollment and articulated credit opportunities for students to leave high school with college credit.  Qualified seniors will also be able to leave campus half a day to take dual enrollment courses on the campuses of the University of Holy Cross, Delgado Community College, and Nunez Community College. We also have a robust AP (Advanced Placement) course offering allowing students to earn college credit starting in their freshman year of high school.  BCHS offers 9 AP (Advanced Placement) classes:  AP Human Geography, AP Government and Politics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, AP Studio Art 2D Design, AP Studio Art Drawing, and AP Calculus.  Students who earn a 3, 4, or 5 on the AP exam can receive college credit. Several of our courses have embedded CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exams in the coursework that gives students an opportunity to test for college credit.  These exams are offered in English III, English IV, Psychology, Sociology, Biology II, Spanish II, Algebra II Honors, Advanced Math, Advanced Math Honors, and Trigonometry.

BCHS is not only a college preparatory high school, but offers career readiness electives as well such as:  Agriscience, Intro to Engineering Design, General Technology (small engine repair), Tourism and Marketing, Customer Service, Intro to Business Communications, Digital Media I & II, Medical Terminology, Remote Vehicles, Digital Media I and II, Speech I & II, and Law Studies.  Seniors that attend Nunez Community College take courses in welding, electrical trades, and HVAC.

BCHS offers our students a 35-minute intervention period three days per week during the school day known as FLEX.   This allows students to seek assistance in their core classes as needed.  Teachers may also schedule students into intervention if they feel like they need additional support. We have talented, caring, and certified teachers who are as rigorous as they are engaging.  I would truly put these teachers up against any faculty in the nation. . .they are just that good!

Our Cardinal Nation prides itself not only on our academic accolades and opportunities, but providing a high school experience with a variety of sports, clubs, class events, and school wide events.  Our athletic teams are very competitive while promoting good sportsmanship and teamwork.  Students can participate in:  football, volleyball, cross country, wrestling, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, bowling, track and field, and golf. Students can also show their school spirit with our cheerleading squad and dance team.  Our school band performs at football games, basketball games, parades, and showcase their talent with two concerts.  BCHS offers a wide variety of clubs and organizations to get you involved.  In August we have a club fair where you can sign up for clubs such as:  Art club, Beta, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Literary Rally, Multicultural Club, Powder Puff, PSL, Student to Student (S2S), Student Council, Yearbook, Young Life, HOSA, and more. BCHS prides itself on offering a wide range of student activities such as Freshman Football Night, Fresh Fest, Sophomore Red Carpet Event, Junior Pajama Jam, Senior Hawaiian Night, Homecoming Dance, spirit week, pep rallies, College and Career Day, Powder Puff, Rays for A’s, school dances, Junior Ring Ceremony, Class Olympics, Spring Fling, and Prom. . .just to name a few!
