Special Recognition, Mr. Rodney Landry

By: Mrs. Jemi Carlone, Principal, BCHS

Belle Chasse High School administration, faculty and students would like to recognize a very special friend and Partner in Education, Mr. Rodney Landry with Turner Industries Group, L.L.C.

Mr. Landry has played an integral part in the success of our Industrial Maintenance program here at BCHS for the past 3 years. He is a hands on kind of guy who is always stopping in to speak to our students. He not only gives them real-world, honest advice but he provides that mentoring component that our students so desperately need. What stands out about Mr. Landry the most is that he genuinely cares about our students. He has eagerly agreed to mentor a few students who are considering dropping out of high school. He has also helped our students seek technical training at ABC in St. Rose and has provided ABC tours and summer training opportunities.

Finally, we would like to thank Mr. Landry and Turner Industries Group, L.L.C. for their support of our teachers this year during teacher appreciation week. Mr. Landry cooked his world famous pastalaya to feed all 110 faculty and staff members at BCHS! He and his Phillips 66 crew even came to personally serve our teachers.

Because of all of these things, Mr. Landry was recognized at the BCHS Awards day as our 2016 Volunteer of the Year Award. Thank you Mr. Landry, for all that you do for us, we appreciate you more than you know!
