Mr. Euper's US History-Honors 20-21-1st Period Assignments

There is no assignment today (other than today's quiz).

View today's video to learn about racism in the South in the late 1800s. In particular, you will learn about how southern states prevented African Americans from being able to vote, which is something that still happens to this day.

After you view today's video, take some time to prepare for our first test by reviewing my study guide. You can find this study guide in the first post that I put up under "Westward Expansion and the Gilded Age."

Watch the PBS documentary The Day the 60's Died and answer the questions on the attached document, or if you handwrite them, attach a photo of your answers.

Fill in the answers in a different color font to help you review for the US History LEAP 2025.

Include your 3 outlines that you completed in class. Attach the documents or pictures.

Follow the link and work together in groups of 3 or 4 to solve the Pearl Harbor Escape Room. Attach the names of your group members and the different codes that you unlocked to prove how far you made it.

Follow the instructions on the document and complete it by Wednesday night.

To get an overview of WW2, you will match the correct photograph with the correct caption to create a timeline that will help you as you go through Unit 6.

Attach your lecture outlines here for the days you were in person. M-W classes should have 3 and Tu-Th classes should have 2.

When graphing, use the red dots to drag them where the points intersect. There should be enough for each graph.

If you choose to make up any missing work to be turned in by October 1st for credit, you MUST FILL OUT THIS FORM for me to grade it. I will not go searching for what you made up in all of those assignments.

Create a discussion question dealing with topics from 3.3 Spanish-American War and answer someone else's question in a 5-7 sentence reply. If 2 people have already written a response to the same question, move to a new one to answer.

Choose 40 key terms from the list attached and create a Google Slideshow providing each of the following for every key term.
1. Synopsis- a 3-5 sentence original (your own words) explanation of the historic significance of the key term.
2. Image- a picture, graph, illustration, political cartoon that provides context for the key term.
3. Quote- provide a quote that gives greater insight into what the key terms historic significance was. Identify the person who said it.

Do a close read of the speeches by Washington & DuBois and answer the guiding questions on the last slide of the slideshow. Answer EACH question in AT LEAST 3 thorough sentences.

Read the excerpts from Urban Political Machines and write a well-written paragraph for each question.

Read the letters and answer the questions to gain insight into the minds of immigrants at this time.

Select 2 of the 4 Sets (Set A, B, C, or D) of side-by-side newspaper articles and answer all questions in the graphic organizers for BOTH SETS.

Discussion Activity Question- 8/31/20: 20 points
1. Use the attached Google Doc to write a discussion question (IN ALL CAPS) on 2.1 American Innovation or 2.2 Big Business that you think would stimulate good conversation.
2. Answer another students question in 5-7 sentences. (IF 2 people have answered that question already, you must choose a different one).
3. Respond to a students answer to a question by agreeing with explanation, asking a followup question, disagreeing with explanation, or stating something that you know or learned about the topic.

Read the excerpts on the Gospel of Wealth and answer the questions that follow on the Google Doc attached here.

Read each question carefully and select the best answer. You have 1 minute for each question and 5 minutes for the short answer question. You must complete the test before 11:45 tonight. Good luck!
